Xiaomi Co-founder shares Mi 5 screenshot: Confirming two specs

Mr Lei Jun has done it again, taking to Weibo teasing some key features on their upcoming flagships that every Mi fan would love to know. And funnily what gave it away was just a screenshot of the device’s home screen.

Looks like NFC is coming back to their Mi series, as the “N” symbol can clearly be seen above. That and the fact that you can see two signal strengths pretty much confirms a Dual-SIM Mi 5 with 4G LTE.

In another post, the co-founder states that this device will bring “a lot of surprises”. He should know best since he’s been using the device for a good month. Rumours claim that these surprised are a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM.

Others talk about a 5-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1080); 16-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front sensors; Android Marshmallow 6.0 in the form of MIUI; and a 4000 mAh battery.

Hugo Barra (Global VP of Xiaomi) had earlier announced that the brand will be making its first international showing at MWC 2016 and we’re expecting fireworks at their first global exhibition.

Adding on to the teaser, a leak has come out showing the retail box of the Mi 5. Showing off the colours and how the device will look like. The images look pretty real and illustrate the devices in four different colours: gold, pink, white and black.

The battle of the top two Chinese manufacturers is going to get messy. Let’s just hope they keep it up so consumers can reap the benefits.
