UPDATE: The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus comes to Malaysia officially on 16th October.

The iPhone 6s and its bigger iPhone 6s Plus went on sale since yesterday in first wave countries which includes Singapore. For us in Malaysia, it would probably take months before it gets here officially and that’s despite the latest Apple duo making an appearance in our SIRIM database .

If you can’t wait, our enterprising retailers are always there to fulfill the need of those who want the latest. Most of these units are likely to be from Singapore due to proximity and more favourable prices, based on our current exchange rates.

Want to buy the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus? We compared the current deals offered by DirectD, SatuGadget and Lazada Malaysia for your easy reference. Check them out after the break.

Getting an iPhone in Singapore is quite expensive to start with, no thanks to our current 1 SGD = RM3.08 exchange rate. Being an import or AP set, there’s an obvious premium to pay on top of the original price.

The cheapest iPhone 6s with 16GB can be yours starting from RM3,559 on SatuGadget but this is limited to the more classic Silver and Space Grey colours. Meanwhile, the phablet sized iPhone 6s Plus starts from RM4,699 for 16GB from both SatuGadget and Lazada.

Across the board, the gold colours would cost more due to anticipated higher demand and it is more extravagant for the new pinkish Rose Gold. If you do plan on shooting lots of 4K videos, it is advisable to give the 16GB model a pass and go for at least 64GB.

If money is no object to you, the iPhone 6s Plus with 128GB storage is sold starting at RM5,945 on Lazada and it goes up to RM7,288 for the Rose Gold colour option. That’s seriously a lot of money to pay and history has always proven that there are always people willing to spend that insane amount.

UPDATE: The iPhone 6s/6s Plus will be launched in Malaysia officially on 16th October. Better to wait for the official sets which are also available on contract from our telcos.

UPDATE 2 (29/9/2015): Some sellers have started throwing price with the iPhone 6s 16GB going for as low as RM3,199 on Lazada. That’s below the market price since it is priced at S$1,048 in Singapore, which is about RM3,282.

For a more sensible purchase, you can probably wait until sometime in November when it is expected to launch officially in Malaysia. Looking at Apple’s constant price hike in Malaysia, do expect to pay more compared to previous years. The prices above are correct at time of writing and they are subject to change without prior notice.
