Sony Malaysia has finally brought its latest flagship, the Sony Xperia Z3+ to Malaysia. This is their updated waterproof flagship that’s thinner, lighter and faster than the previous Xperia Z3. Like other flagship smart phones, it carries a RM2,599 price tag and for the Malaysian market, we are getting the Dual-SIM version.
The Xperia Z3+ looks similar to the previous model from the exterior but it gets some notable differences, including a capless micro USB port which makes charging hassle free. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM.
The display is the same 5.2″ Full HD display and it also comes with dual front stereo speakers and built-in Hi-Res audio support. The main camera is the same 20.7MP shooter as the previous model but the front gets a 5MP shooter for higher resolution selfies. On-board it gets 32GB of storage which can further be extended with the microSD slot. The non-removable battery is smaller at 2,930mAh capacity, but Sony reckons it still maintains its impressive battery life that runs up to 2 days thanks to its smart tweaks on both the display and processor.
Overall it is just 6.9mm thick and weighs 144 grams. Out of the box, it runs on Android Lollipop with their latest UI on top. If you need a high-end smart phone that you can take to the swimming pool, the Xperia Z3+ could be your cup of tea. Hopefully Sony has sorted out its overheating issues caused by its processor.
