The Redmi 2 has just received a price cut from RM449 to RM399. If you need more grunt, Xiaomi could be bringing its Redmi 2 enhanced version to Malaysia very soon with double the amount of RAM and storage.
In Singapore, the Redmi 2 also gets a similar price cut to S$149 (about RM420) and they are about to introduce the enhanced Redmi 2 model next week, 14th July for S$179 (about RM505). With Singapore having the device next week, we can expect this improved version to come to our shores perhaps in the weeks to come.
Spec wise, it gets the same 4.7″ IPS HD 720p display, Qualcomm 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 processor, Dual-SIMs with 4G LTE support, 8MP main + 2MP front cameras along with a removable 2,200mAh capacity battery. The only difference is it gets 2GB RAM instead of 1GB and expandable on-board storage has been increased from 8GB to 16GB. If you need more to store more of your photos and videos, it also comes with a microSD slot. For those complaining 1GB RAM isn’t enough, this Redmi 2 enhanced version is definitely the model to get and it could be priced under RM500.
