Essentially this is an integrated Bluetooth headset and fitness tracker for your wrist, and it costs RM558 for the standard version that comes in either black or white with a rubber strap. For something more elegant, the TalkBand B2 is also available in a Gold Elite edition at RM668, which comes with a leather strap.

As announced at the regional launch, the P8 also comes with extra VIP perks. If there’s a problem with the device, Huawei is offering one to one exchange within the first 12 months and this comes with free delivery service. There’s also a one-time free screen protector replacement warranty for 12 months and a free LCD screen warranty for the first 3 months of your P8 ownership.

The Huawei P8 is also available on contract with Celcom’s FIRST postpaid plan where you can get it from as low as RM438. They are also throwing in a TalkBand B2 worth RM668 when you sign up during the roadshow. Alternatively you can get it on VMall.my and they are offering 30% off on the TalkBand B2 if purchased as a bundle.

To recap on the specs, the Huawei P8 has a 5.2″ Full HD display and it runs on their in-house 64-bit Kirin 930 Octa-Core processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of storage, with dual-SIM 4G LTE and it supports microSD expansion via its 2nd SIM card slot. For imaging, it boast the world’s first 13MP camera with 4-colour RGBW sensor and it is further assisted with Optical Image Stabiliser that claims to tolerate shakes 2X better than other competing flagships. Meanwhile the front boast a 8MP front facing camera with a host of beautification features.

Compared to its predecessor, the P8 is better built with a metal unibody design and it still manages to maintain a slender 6.4mm side profile without any protruding camera lenses. It gets a decent 2,680mAH capacity battery which Huawei reckons would last 1.5 days on a single charge. Out of the box, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with its custom EMUI 3.1 interface.

Meanwhile the P8 lite is their affordable and compact alternative. Priced at RM899, it gets a 5″ HD 720p display and it runs on a Kirin 620 Octa-Core processor with 2GB of RAM, which is similar to its Honor 4X. It gets 16GB of on-board storage which can be expanded with microSD using the 2nd SIM slot. For imaging, it gets a 13MP main camera with dual-tone LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera.

The design looks similar to the Huawei P8 but it is lighter and comes with a smaller 2,200mAh capacity battery. In terms of build, it gets metal looking frame while the back gets a plastic non-removable back that has a premium feeling texture. It also supports 4G LTE and like the P8, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1. For the price, the P8 Lite is quite a decent device but if you prefer a phone with better performance, the Honor 6 would be a better choice and it carries the same RM899 price tag.
