The Lumia 540 has arrived in Malaysia. An Entry level Windows Phone with a HD screen

Microsoft Malaysia has announced the arrival its Lumia 540 Dual SIM that’s priced at RM569. There have been a number of Lumia 5xx series smart phones but this Lumia 540 gets a HD 720p (1280×720) display and a larger 2,200mAh capacity battery.

The specs underneath are pretty much the same with an entry-level 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage that supports up to 128GB microSD. If you need more, Microsoft is also bundling 30GB of OneDrive Cloud storage.

In the camera department, it gets a slight bump with an 8MP main camera with LED flash and a front facing wide-angle 5MP camera for selfies and HD skype. Despite being an 8MP shooter, it still shoots video at 480p max. Out of the box, it runs on Windows Phone 8.1 and it is upgradable to the latest Windows 10. The Lumia 540 will be available starting 19 June and it comes in Cyan, Orange, Black and White Colours. It is a non-4G device but it supports faster 3G connectivity with HSPA+ speeds up to 42Mbps.
