Huawei P8 priced at RM1,799. Pre-order starts today at 3:08PM

The Huawei P8 is coming to Malaysia and its official price has been revealed at RM1,799. Its pre-orders will start today at 3.08PM and they are bundling the TalkBand B2 smart wearable headset at 30% off. On top of that, Huawei’s online store VMall is offering extra free accessories including a protective film, tripod and a protective case.

For Malaysia, the Huawei P8 that we are getting comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which is expandable with microSD up to 128GB. The front gets a 5.2″ Full HD display and it runs on their own Hi Silicon Kirin 930 Octa-Core processor (4xA53 @ 2.0GHz + 4xA53 @1.5GHz). For imaging it gets a 4-colour (RGBW) 13MP camera with OIS while selfie duties are handled by its higher 8MP front camera. Powering the P8 is a 2,680mAh capacity battery and it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

Strangely, despite the pre-orders starting today, the product page has indicated 2nd – 18th June as registration of interest period. When we saw the device recently at Huawei’s ICT Roadshow, we were told that 18th June is their targeted Malaysian launch. We’ll find out more details from the Regional South Pacific launch that’s happening in Singapore today.
