BlackBerry’s affordable touch screen phone, the BlackBerry Leap is finally here with a retail price of RM 1,089 (with GST of course).
Launched earlier this year during MWC 2015, the Leap is essentially an update to the BlackBerry Z3 and features a better 5 inch HD 720 display, 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage and a quite dated dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Plus processor. The phone will have a large 2,800mAh battery with a 25 hour rating with heavy use as well as 4G LTE support. Out of the box the device will run on BlackBerry 10.3.1 and will be preloaded with BlackBerry Blend and BlackBerry Assistant.
As for the camera, it has a 8 megapixel rear snapper and a 2 megapixel front camera combo.
The BlackBerry Leap is now available on preorder on 11street and will be coming soon to Maxis, Celcom and Tune Talk, with preorders set to start shipping on 19th May. As a special promo, they are giving out 11street shopping coupon worth RM150 and the first 100 buyers will also get BlackBerry merchandise which includes a cap and a leather phone pouch.
