Apart from the Zenfone 2, their “ZenPower” power banks are also heading to Malaysia. The must have power accessory was spotted in their latest product guide. If the popular Xiaomi Mi Powerbanks are too mainstream for your taste, the ZenPower is probably the closest alternative with 11 safety layers and a similar aluminium body that comes in a compact credit card-like size.

According to the listing, we are getting the smaller 9,600mAh unit instead of the larger 10,050mAh ZenPower that we saw in Jakarta.

Priced at RM69, it still can’t beat Xiaomi’s extremely low priced power banks that costs RM49 for 10,000mAh and RM79 for its mammoth 16,000mAh version. However it is still cheap compared to most mainstream power banks in the market. In Indonesia, the ZenPower 10,050mAh is priced at 269,000 Rupiah, which is about RM75.

The ZenPower also has the advantage of being lighter (at only 215g) and it pushes a higher 2.4Amp which charges faster than the typical 2.1Amp output from most powerbanks. If our assumption of its product listing is correct, ASUS Malaysia could be bringing multiple colours such as Gold, Black, Blue and Pink in addition to the standard silver colour body.

You can check out the ASUS ZenPower announcement post from our Jakarta Zenfone 2 launch coverage.

Thanks @KevinNgTK for the tip!
