It is no secret that OPPO is about to release its new R7 smart phone. This is the successor of its current OPPO R5 that’s super thin at 4.85mm and it carries over the similar durable stainless steel frame and back.
Ahead of its global announcement, the OPPO R7 has just passed our Malaysian SIRIM certification with the model R7f. From the little certification details, the R7 has dual-SIM slots and it will support 4G LTE in both 1800MHz and 2600MHz.
Just to recap what OPPO has revealed so far, the R7 appears to be similar with the current R5 but it gets a couple of new additions. At the front, there’s a physical home button which is probably the first for OPPO. There’s a possibility that the home button could double up as a one touch fingerprint scanner for easier unlocking.
For the front, it gets a 2.5D screen which has a slight rounded edges at the sides that’s similar to the iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4. Being an R series, you can expect this to be super slim but it may not be as thin as their current R5. If they are plan to push this as a flagship, OPPO should considering putting a larger battery capacity into this one. As usual, you can expect OPPO’s VOOC rapid charging technology which does 0-75% in just 30 minutes.
With the device being certification in our local SIRIM database, it looks like Malaysia would be among the first wave countries to receive it after its global announcement. The OPPO R7 is said to be launching in May.
