Xiaomi has officially announced its Mi Note Pro, which is the higher spec variant of its Mi Note flagship phablet. It gets a 5.7″ Quad HD display, Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 810 processor and a whopping 4GB of RAM.

During its main announcement in January, the Mi Note Pro was priced at 3,299 CNY (about RM1,900). Now they have reduced its pricing to 2,999 CNY (about RM1,728) and it even comes with a couple of tweaks as well.

With the 64-bit 2.0GHz/1.5GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor powering the Mi Note Pro, there’s always a concern with regards to heat. For the Mi Note Pro, they have improved its thermal efficiency and it maintains a cool 36.3 degree Celsius after 20 minutes of gaming. In terms of performance, it pushes over 63,000 points on Antutu which is higher than other Snapdragon 810 smart phones. According to Xiaomi, the HTC One M9 scores around 57,000 points while the LG G Flex 2 trails behind slightly at about 56,000 points. The Mi Note Pro obviously has the added advantage as it has 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

In terms of display, the Mi Note Pro also gets a Sunlight display which is similar to the recently launched Mi 4i. Under bright outdoor sunlight, the display adjusts its contrast on the pixel level in real time for better readability.

In the battery department, the Mi Note Pro gets a slightly larger 3,090mAh capacity battery, which is merely 3% more (90mAh) than the standard Mi Note. It also supports Quick Charge 2.0 (9V 1.2A) that is capable of juicing it up from 0-70% in one hour. For greater efficiency, the Mi Note Pro boasts Parallel charging technology where it has two charging modules which increases its charge rate while distributing heat evenly.

The rest of the device remains unchanged with a 13MP Sony f/2.0 main camera with image stabiliser, while the front gets a 4MP camera which is similar to HTC’s Ultrapixel camera. For storage, it gets 64GB on-board which isn’t expandable. The Mi Note Pro also supports 4G LTE with Cat 9 through carrier aggregation and it support speeds up to 450Mbps. Out of the box, it will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with MIUI 6 skin on top. The Mi Note Pro will go on sale in China on 12th May.
