The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge are Samsung’s first flagship devices that come without a removable battery and a microSD slot. For Malaysia, we are only getting the 32GB capacity version which some consumers have complained that’s too little.

If you’ve been holding out from buying the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, word has it that Samsung could be bringing its larger 64GB option after all. However do expect to pay more for the added storage. According to a tipster, the Galaxy S6 64GB would be priced at RM3,099 while the Galaxy S6 edge 64GB will be priced even more at RM3,599. As comparison, the current Galaxy S6 and S6 edge in 32GB capacity are priced at RM2,599 and RM3,099 respectively. So in short, you’re paying RM500 extra for double the storage.

From the looks of it, that’s a lot to pay for just 32GB extra considering Apple charges about RM424 for a 48GB jump from 16GB to 64GB with its post-GST pricing. However this is partly due to Samsung’s Universal Flash Storage 2.0 that performs much faster than other eMMC 5.0 based storage. So far we dont know when it is going on sale but we are told that it is coming soon.

If you have RM3,099 at hand, would you go for a 64GB Galaxy S6 or a 32GB Galaxy S6 edge?
