Xiaomi’s high-spec Mi Note Pro goes on sale in May

The Mi Note Pro that boasts a higher resolution Quad HD display, Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM is finally going on sale. A few days ago, the device was certified under China’s TENNA certification database. Now Xiaomi has updated on its Weibo account that pre-orders will start on 6th May and the Mi Note Pro with 64GB storage will be priced at 3,299 CNY, which is equivalent to RM1,934.

As comparison, the standard Mi Note is priced at 2,299 CNY (RM1,347) for 16GB, while the 64GB version is going for 2,799 CNY (RM1,640).

To recap on the specs, the Mi Note Pro gets a 5.7″ IPS display that does 2560×1440 pixels resolution. Underneath, it runs on a 2.0GHz Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core processor that’s mated to 4GB RAM and has 64GB of storage which isn’t expandable. As included is a 13MP camera with Optical Image Stabilisation while selfie duties are handled by a 4MP front camera with a larger 2 micron pixel size sensor.

Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh capacity battery which gives it an overall thickness of just 6.95mm and a weight of 161grams. It supports 4G LTE up to Cat 9 speeds and there’s dual-SIM support as well.

The only difference with the Standard Mi Note is its lower Full HD 5.7″ display, Quad-Core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB of RAM. In terms of colours, the Mi Note gets Black and White colours, while the Mi Note Pro is available only in White with a golden frame. For Malaysia, Xiaomi initially mentions that we would be getting the standard Mi Note in the 2nd quarter of 2015. For those who can’t wait, you can count on grey importers to offer the Mi Note Pro in Malaysia.
