OnePlus One will be offered exclusively on Maxis

It is better late than never and OnePlus One is finally making its way officially into Malaysia. As the OnePlus Malaysian site went live, its pre-order page is linked to Maxis OnePlus page which is shown to be coming soon. From the looks of it, Maxis is the exclusive telco for the One but it isn’t clear if there are other channels where you can purchase it without contract.

UPDATE: According to OnePlus, you can buy the OnePlus One outright without contract at Maxis Stores.

According to a source that tipped Amanz, the OnePlus One would be offered on MaxisOne Plan + 1GB at RM959. In addition, they are said to be giving extra monthly rebates of RM30 for 12 months. Outright, the One is listed at RM1,299 inclusive of GST and this is likely to be the 16GB model. With a mere RM340 subsidy, it is likely to be bundled with a shorter 12 month contract.

However a quick check on Maxis’s Device page has listed the OnePlus One being offered for free. However this could be just a temporary placeholder as a Sony Xperia device is being shown by mistake. We’ll find out for sure on its final offering when we get closer to its 22nd April launch.
