What is Xiaomi up to next?

In Malaysia — and in almost all other countries outside of China — Xiaomi is known for making cheap, well-equipped phones and accompanying accessories that’s great value for money. In China however, Xiaomi makes just about everything else, from TVs to air purifiers to CCTV cameras, and if this teaser is anything to go by, it looks like the company from China that’s excellent at making good, cheap, you’re in for a very interesting surprise.

Xiaomi has just clued us in on what looks to be a personal mobility device. From what we can tell, the machine will be electric, possibly has one wheel (or maybe four, aka an electric car?) and that it looks to be a collaboration with Ninebot, a personal mobility transport manufacturer that’s based in China.

The other interesting thing is that the media invite for the event, and the teaser that follows it, show the logo of three leading investment and venture capital companies that could be backing the Xiaomi’s new venture.

The event is happening tomorrow at 2pm and we’re guessing that there will be a live feed as well, but since the launch is happening in China, you can expect everything to be in Chinese.

So, what do you think?
