The Huawei Snapto is now official

Looking like a direct competitor for the Motorola Moto G in terms of both pricing and specs, Huawei‘s latest budget smartphone is currently available for pre-order on Amazon to be launched on April 17th.

The Huawei SnapTo has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset under the hood at 1.2GHz, mated to 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable memory. The screen is a 5 inch 720p display, 4G LTE support, and it will be sporting a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash as well as a 2 MP front snapper. Battery wise it will have a decent 2,200mAh battery as well as Android 4.4 KitKat with Emotion UI 2.3 on top.

Currently the SnapTo is available for pre-order at $179.99 (about RM 660) and the black model will be released on April 17th while the white one will be available starting May 15th. We don’t know if we will be able to get it ourselves outside of the Amazon pre-order as the Malaysian Huawei site has yet to list the smartphone as available.
