Just a week after introducing its 40″ Mi TV2, the rising Chinese brand has just announced an even larger 55″ version. This brings its current Mi TV2 offering to 3 sizes – 40″, 49″ and 55″.

While the 40″ version is an affordable Full HD option at 1,999 CNY (about RM1,175), the latest version boasts a 4K Ultra HD resolution screen using Samsung’s RGB LCD panel. Like its original 49″ version, it features a 178 degree viewing angle with a 8ms response time along with a static contrast ratio of 4000:1.

Being a smart TV, it runs on a MStar 6A928 quad-core 1.4GHz processor with 2GB DDR3 (triple channel) RAM and 8GB of storage. According to Xiaomi, the Mi TV 55″ has the most powerful MStar 4K processor and it is capable to support 4K H.265 video decoding at 60fps. Connectivity wise, it comes with 3x HDMI 2.0 ports, USB 3.0 and 802.11ac WiFi (2×2 MIMO). Out of the box, it runs on MIUI TV which is based on Android. Xiaomi is pushing the Mi TV as a content box with easy access to content, games and supported Smart Apps.

Sound is also a big thing with the new model and it comes with a similar 8-speaker soundbar that’s accompanied with new subwoofer. The all-new cylinder shaped aluminium sound woofer is lighter by 6.2kg than the wooden unit paired with the 49″ version. It also connects wirelessly with the TV via Bluetooth. The Mi TV2 55″ including the soundbar and subwoofer is priced at 4,999 CNY which is about RM2,987. For more information, you can check out its Mi TV2 55″ product page.
