Xiaomi to unveil a new Mi TV tomorrow

Apart from selling smart phones, Xiaomi is also disruptive in the Smart TV segment. Their current Mi TV2 is a 49″ 4K resolution TV that comes with a Sound Bar and subwoofer for less than RM3,000 (3,999 CNY). After almost a year since its introduction, the Chinese brand is about to unveil its 3rd generation TV which will be announced tomorrow, on 24th March.

This time Xiaomi and its partners have been tight-lipped as there’s hardly any info or leaks of their upcoming TV. On their official site, they are dropping teasers in a form of a user poll, asking if people prefer larger or smaller screens, 4K or 1080p resolutions and if they play more games or watch more videos. Could Xiaomi be working on a much larger Smart TV or are they releasing 2 sizes like Micromax?

Do expect integration into its Mi Home ecosystem where it would work alongside its Mi Router, Yi Camera, Mi Air Purifier and various internet connected appliances. Xiaomi has plans to bring its TV to the international market but it would require a content partner in each respective country. The Mi TV2 is currently among the hot selling products alongside its affordable Mi Purifier and if you’re lucky, you can probably snap a unit from grey importers such as DirectD.

It will be unveiled tomorrow and you can check out their teaser page here.
