Lenovo Vibe Shot, a photography-centric device appears ahead of MWC 2015

The camera is one of the most used feature on a smart phone and most brands are constantly trying to boast better photography on a smart phone. With Nokia, Samsung and most recently ASUS having a photography-centric device, Lenovo wants a part of the action with its purported Vibe Shot. This was earlier alleged to be the Vibe Z3 Pro and it turns out to be a new mid-range device with an interesting camera and flash set up.

In typical Lenovo fashion, it gets a premium aluminium frame body, which surrounds a 5″ Full HD display. Underneath, it runs on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM. There’s 32GB of on-board storage and it runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Over at the back, it gets a compact camera-like appearance where its photography components are lined up on one side. The main shooter is a 16MP BSI unit that’s assisted by optical image stabiliser (OIS) for more stable still shots. If dual-LED flash isn’t enough, the Vibe Shot comes with triple LED and it is also likely to feature a faster Laser AutoFocus feature like the LG G3 and ZenFone Zoom. Unfortunately there’s no extra optical zoom like the Galaxy K Zoom and ZenFone Zoom.

So far there’s no pricing details but the Lenovo Vibe Shot is expected to make its debut at the upcoming MWC 2015 in Barcelona.
