In a teaser image not unlike that of what Samsung has been showing off lately, Huawei has dropped a couple of hints for an upcoming MWC announcement.
The images initially appeared on the Chinese smartphone brand’s Weibo profile with each carrying the tagline ‘Next is here’. The teaser looks like it’s hinting at an upcoming smartwatch which is no surprise either since the company has listed a smartwatch as a new device to be launched this year, plus the Huawei Talkband B1 was launched at MWC 2014 and is in serious need of an upgrade. The Talkband B1 was mostly just a Bluetooth headset that docked on your wrist, with some extra fitness capabilities slapped on for good measure.
Huawei’s mysterious smartwatch will likely have 4G LTE connectivity and will be a rival for the Samsung Gear S, which is saying a lot considering how ‘basic’ their previous smartwatch was, meaning they’ve probably upped their game in terms of tech as well. We’ll find out for sure once the actual announcement comes around.
