HTC One M8 gets Android 5.0 Lollipop update in Malaysia

HTC is finally rolled outs its Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC One M8 users in Malaysia. The release fulfils its promise of keeping its latest flagships to the current Android versions within 90 days of release. In a surprise move, Samsung had earlier released its Galaxy S5 Lollipop update within the first few days of 2015.

For the HTC One M8, brings a couple of changes to its interface particularly on its lock screen, recent apps and notifications. The HTC Sense UI isn’t changed dramatically as it still based on Sense 6.0, which is the same as the previous Android 4.4.4 KitKat version. The OTA (Over the Air) update is quite a huge one at about 650MB, so it is recommended to download this over a fixed WiFi connection. If you haven’t received any notification yet, you may check manually at Settings > About > Software. HTC is also expected to extend the same Lollipop updates for the HTC One E8 and HTC Butterfly 2 within Q1 this year.
