Samsung will be launching its new Galaxy A line up next week, on 8th January 2015. The new unibody smart phones which includes the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 are targeted at the younger crowd. It also features a metal frame that’s similar to its Galaxy Alpha.
Both models are running on a mid-range 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 processor and comes with 4G LTE support as standard. The top of the line model at the moment is their Galaxy A5 which comes with a 5″ HD 720p Super AMOLED display that’s bundled with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, 13MP main camera and a wide-selfie supported 5MP front camera. With a 2,300mAh capacity battery, the Galaxy A5 maintains the same Galaxy Alpha thickness of 6.7mm and it weighs 123 grams.
Meanwhile the Galaxy A3 is their entry-level model which comes with a downsized 4.5″ display that does a lower 960×540 resolution and it settles for just 1GB of RAM. The 16GB on-board storage has been retained as well as its microSD expansion slot and 5MP front camera. Over at the back, the main camera is a notch down with a 8MP shooter, while the battery is slightly smaller at 1,900mAh capacity. The Galaxy A3 is lighter at 110grams and it is slightly thicker at 6.9mm.
Both devices have already passed SIRIM certification and we’ll find out more on availability and pricing details next week.
