Acer Liquid Jade S – Updated mid-range smart phone with faster processor and 4G LTE

The Acer Liquid Jade is sleek mid-range Android smart phone that’s both slender and light to hold. If you think its current specs of having a 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek processor is quite low-rate, Acer has given it a jab of steroids with a newer Liquid Jade S.

From the exterior, the new Acer Liquid Jade S looks the same as its current model with a 5″ HD 720p display. However underneath it gets a newer 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6752M Octa-Core processor which supports 64-bit and faster 4G LTE. Like its latest smart phone line up, Acer is packing a generous serving of 2GB RAM and 16GB of on-board storage.

The back camera retains the same 13MP f/1.8 shooter as before but the front now gets a larger 5MP camera for selfies. With greater processing power, the on-board battery gets an upgrade too from 2,100mAh in the original Liquid Jade to 2,300mAh in the new Liquid Jade S. It also features a unique 2-in-1 SIM slot, which also doubled up as a microSD expansion slot if you’re using just 1 SIM.

As a result, it is now slightly thicker at 7.78mm and heavier at 116 grams, in comparison to the previous model at 7.5mm and 110 grams respectively. In Taiwan, the Liquid Jade S is priced at $6,990 TWD (about RM779). If you’re wondering, it will be coming to Malaysia soon since it has just passed our local SIRIM certification.
