Recently Meizu is said to be announcing a new device that could possibly go head on with its affordable rival, the Xiaomi Redmi series. From its recent teaser, Meizu is definitely launching it this coming Thursday, 11th December.
Targeting for mass, the new device will be more affordable than its current MX4 and MX4 Pro models. Now word has it that this new Meizu model could be priced competitively at only 799 CNY (about RM452).
In terms of specs, the new device is no slouch either. Based on early spec leaks, the new Meizu device codenamed K52 is spotted having a 4.6″ Full HD display and it runs on MediaTek’s newer 1.7GHz MT6752 Octa-Core processor with 2GB of RAM. On-board it gets a generous 16GB of storage too. Further more, the MT6752 processor supports 64-bit and 4G LTE as well.
To have a Full HD smart phone for less than RM700 is extremely rare. If Meizu is really launching such specs for less than RM500, this would disrupt the entry-level smart phone segment. Looks like Malaysians will be spoilt for choice in 2015 especially when Meizu already has official presence in Malaysia.
