Vivo’s upcoming thinnest smart phone still manages to fit a headphone jack

The Vivo X5 Max is going to be the world’s thinnest smart phone and it is expected to be under 4mm thick. The thinnest smart phone record is currently being held by the OPPO R5 which has a thickness of 4.85mm.

As it is already incredibly slim, OPPO has omitted the headphone jack but surprisingly Vivo revealed that they are including one in for its thinner X5 Max. Having a dedicated headphone jack is much preferred as you won’t need to carry a separate microUSB to headphone jack adapter, which can be quite messy. You can see how thin the X5 Max is over here. It was also teased to be half the thickness of an iPhone 5/5S (7.6mm).

To recap on its purported specs, the Vivo X5 Max is said to be having a larger 5.5″ Full HD screen and it will be powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek Octa-Core processor with 2GB of RAM. As comparison, the OPPO R5 has a 5.2″ Full HD Super AMOLED display and it runs on Qualcomm’s newer 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM. If you plan to get your hands on the OPPO R5, it is now open for pre-order and stocks will be available right after Christmas.
