The covers are finally off and the Microsoft Lumia 535 is the first Lumia device to carry the Microsoft brand. This is their new entry-level device which sits right above its current affordable Lumia 530.
The Lumia 535 get a bigger 5″ IPS display that does a qHD resolution of 960×540 and underneath it runs on the same 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 200 processor as the Lumia 530 but this time it gets more RAM at 1GB. On-board it gets 8GB of storage which can be expanded up to 128GB extra with microSD.
For taking pictures, the 5MP camera at the back has auto focus and LED flash light for illumination. While this is an entry-level device, selfies lovers would be happy to know that it gets a wide angle 5MP front shooter. The front camera is the same unit that’s found on its selfie-centric Lumia 730/735. Keeping the lights on is a 1,905mAh capacity battery, which is much larger than the Lumia 530 (1,430mAh).
Out of the box, it runs on the latest Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim Update. It is available in either single SIM or dual-SIM options and both supports 3G connectivity. It is expected to be priced at 110 Euros (about RM456) and it will be available starting in China, Hong Kong and Bangladesh beginning this month. Other countries will follow shortly and we reckon the price should be cheaper if it gets here.
