HTC will be updating its current smart phone line up to Android 5.0 Lollipop. If you’re curious to know how it looks like, here’s a little peek thanks to a couple of screenshots that have surfaced online. It follows the same Material Design approach while the 3 on-screen navigation icons below remains unchanged.
Another thing you’ll notice is a change of font style which is different from its current Sense 6.0 interface. Do note that this is still an early build so things may change in the final release.
In terms of software roll out, HTC is said to be updating their flagship HTC One M8 and One M7 first. The purported Lollipop schedule are as follows:
HTC One M8//One M7 – January-February (Google Play Edition by end December)
HTC Desire EYE, HTC One (M8) Dual SIM, HTC One (M7) Dual SIM, HTC One (E8), HTC One (E8) Dual SIM, HTC Butterfly 2 – January-March
HTC One Mini 2, Desire 816 – March-April
HTC One Max, HTC One Mini, HTC Butterfly S – March-May
Google will be pushing out Lollipop officially on 3rd November and HTC has pledged 90 days for them to update their current flagships to the latest Android version. For the past releases, HTC has been doing a pretty good job when it comes to updates especially with their One M7.
