Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact officially available in Malaysia starting this Friday

The latest Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact is available in Malaysia starting this Friday, 26th September. The 5.2″ Xperia Z3 flagship is priced at RM2,399 while its smaller 4.6″ Xperia Z3 Compact is offered at RM1,899. Both are currently the highest rated waterproof smart phone which were launched during IFA 2014.

Sony Mobile is also offering extra content and goodies for both devices which include:

-22 free downloadable episodes of The Blacklist TV series
-Unlimited Music Streaming via Akazoo for 6 months
-50GB Dropbox Storage
-RM100 Qoo10 online shopping vouchers
-Real-time stock and finance info by Share Investor
-RM15 off MyTeksi rides (up to 3 rides), worth RM45
-3 free e-magazine titles from SPH Magazine worth RM30

As a special launch promo, they are giving Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact buyers a chance to a win a Sony PlayStation 4 worth RM1,799. To take part, just show your warranty card or proof or purchase during their Sony Roadshow that’s happening at 1 Utama Shopping Centre (High Street) between 1st and 6th October.

There will be 50 lucky winners will be notified by Sony announced on Sunday, 5th October. Meanwhile, Xperia Z3 Compact buyers will also get a free bumper casing and premium tempered glass protection worth RM139.

Sony Mobile did surprise us this time and they took just 22 days since its announcement to release their latest flagship in Malaysia. To recap on the specs, the Xperia Z3 boast a similar sized 5.2″ Full HD Triluminos display as its predecessor but it gets a more uprated specs with a Quad-Core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

While it looks like a mere update over its previous Xperia Z2, the Xperia Z3 gets a newer 20.7MP sensor that boast a higher ISO 12800 and a wider 25mm G-Lens. Another big improvement is its battery life which Sony claims to be able to last up to 2 days in a single charge, and that’s without enabling stamina mode. The Xperia Z3 is available in Black, White, Silver Green and Copper colours.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

Unlike other “mini” smart phones, the Xperia Z3 Compact is a smaller device with flagship internals. It gets the same 2.5GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor, 20.7MP camera and 16GB storage as its bigger flagship model but gets a slightly smaller 2GB of RAM and 2,600mAh capacity battery which also claims to last up to 2 days.

In terms of size, the Xperia Z3 Compact manages to maintain the same width as its former Xperia Z1 Compact while the screen gets enlarged from 4.3″ to 4.6″ and it still pushes HD 720p resolution. New for the Xperia Z3 Compact is a pair of front stereo speakers which is also found on the bigger Xperia Z3. The device is available in Black, White, Green and Orange.
