If you love taking selfies, the Sony Xperia C3 is finally available in Malaysia with the retail price tag of RM999. This is their mid-tier 5.5″ smart phone that supports 4G LTE that’s also remarkably thin at 7.6mm.
Claiming to the best selfie smart phone, the Xperia C3 gets a front facing 5MP camera that has a wide angle 25mm lens and it even comes with a front mounted soft LED flash light. If you don’t want to take their word for it, there’s an independent study on front facing smart phone cameras in the market which rated the Xperia C3 as the best smart phone for taking selfies. Like most smart phones today, it packs a photo retouch feature called Portrait retouch v.2 that applies make-up” in real-time.
The Xperia C3 runs on a 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor that’s mated to 1GB of RAM and it comes with 8GB of storage which can be expanded using microSD up to 32GB. The front 5.5″ display uses IPS panel for better viewing angles and it pushes a HD resolution of 1280×720. For taking normal shots, it packs a 8MP Exmor RS camera that does Full HD videos and powering the device is a 2,500mAh capacity battery.
Overall, the price of the Xperia C3 under RM1,000 is quite competitive and it stands out with its larger front camera. As comparison, the similar spec’ed but more premium built Xperia T3 is priced at RM1,399 while its larger 6″ Xperia T2 Ultra is priced at RM1,299.
