Sharp Aquos Crystal announced with bezel-less design

Like high definition TVs, Sharp is on a pursuit to make bezels as thin as possible. Looks like they have nailed with its latest Sharp Aquos Crystal that comes with no bezels. It offers an edge to edge display except for its bottom portion which also houses its front facing camera.

While it is a design marvel, the Aquos Crystal is quite a mid-tier device with a 5″ display that does HD 720p resolution and a Snapdragon 400 processor that’s mated to just 1.5GB of RAM. For taking pictures, it gets a 8MP main camera and a front facing 1.2MP shooter. It also supports 4G LTE and with a 2,040mAh battery on board, it weighs 140 grams with a thickness of 10mm.

Design wise, it reminds us of an Xperia S from 2 years back. Having zero bezels does look stunning but we are curious to see how it fares against accidental touches and side impacts when dropped from the sides. The Aquos Crystal will only be released in Japan and exclusively available in the US via Sprint.

Check out its promotional videos and photos after the break.
