The affordable Redmi 1S is also offered by Celcom and it can be yours Free on a Postpaid contract. Similar to DiGi’s offering, the Redmi 1S is bundled on a RM78/month commitment plan with 24 months duration.
The device is tied with Celcom First Prime (RM40) with bolt-on 1GB of data (RM38). While the Redmi 1S is free, you would need to fork out RM450 for advance payment which will be rebated back to your bills across 10 months.
To recap, the Redmi 1S is Xiaomi’s most affordable model that’s priced at RM419 outright. It gets a 4.7″ HD 720p display, a quad-core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB storage, 8MP + 1.6MP camera and a decent sized 2,000mAh capacity battery.
