Redmi 1S goes on sale in Malaysia next Tuesday with 5,000 units

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S will be going on sale in Malaysia next Tuesday at 12PM. The 4.7″ entry level smart phone is priced at RM419 and 5,000 units will be made available at their Mi Online Store. Also available are 8,000 units of Mi 3 Smart Phones (RM769) , 10,000 units of 10,400mAh Mi Power Bank (RM36) and 5,000 units of 5,200mAh Power bank (RM25). The Redmi 1S quite an affordable dual-SIM device that can take on more expensive and established rivals like the Moto G. The front 4.7″ display does a respectable HD 720p resolution and it runs on a more proven 1.6GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM. It even gets a 8GB of on-board storage which can be expanded up to 64GB with microSD. The back gets a 8MP camera with assisted flash while Selfies are taken care of by its 1.6MP front camera. For the initial sales, we are getting the black colour unit while the white colour version will be made some time later.

If you’re looking for something bigger, the Redmi Note will be available 2 weeks from now on the 22nd July. The 5.5″ phablet which runs on MediaTek’s Octa-Core processor is be priced at RM509.
