This is the drone that you’re looking for part 2

Here’s another autonomous drone to get your saliva glands working. Say hello to the Airdog, an autonomous quadcopter drone that follows your every action-packed move.

The Airdog differs with the Hexo+ in a number of ways. First, the Airdog comes with a wrist-mounted controller allowing you to control device without a smartphone. This makes the Airdog more versatile especially when you’re recording in wet or muddy conditions.

Next you have sports-specific profiles that changes the attitude of the drone to give you camera angles that match the action and other sports-specific functionality. For example if you’re surfing, the drone can be set to idle at the beach until the moment when you need it. When the perfect wave hits, you can trigger the drone to take off and come find/follow you. Should the battery run low while you’re still in action, it’ll fly itself back to the coast and land again. There will be similarly tailored profiles for other sports. Other features include the ability to program in your own flight paths or record a flight path that you like that you can fine tune later, and the ability to control the drone using a standard RC controller. The Airdog is designed for GoPro cameras and even includes a gimbal for better image stabilisation.

The people behind Aridog needs US$200,000 on Kicktarter to get the concept of the ground. Backers can get the unit for a special early-bird price of around US$995 to US$1,195. Retail shoppers can expect to part with $1,500 if and when it hits the shelves in October if things go according to plan.
