Huawei starts “Pre-order” of Ascend P7. Giving out 17 units in their virtual queue contest

Huawei Malaysia will be launching their flagship Ascend P7 smart phone on the 10th of June. Like the Honor 3C, they are now running a contest ahead of the launch with 17 units of Huawei Ascend P7 to give away.

All you need to do is participate in their virtual queue at their promo page and try to be on the lucky 10 spots – #1, #7, #17, #27, #37, #47, #57, #67, #77 and #777 position. To move forward in the queue, you would need to perform several tasks such as inviting your friends, answering hourly bonus questions or entering a code from Huawei’s WeChat. Additional 7 lucky winners will be picked during launch day on the 10th June as well.

While the Ascend P7 pricing has yet to be announced, Huawei has open up “Pre-orders” which turns out to be a simple registration form on their website. It is not clear whether this secures a unit or it is merely a registration of interest like the typical telco device deals. The Ascend P7 is already listed on VMall.my but carries a dummy retail price of RM999,999.

The previous model, the Ascend P6 was priced at RM1,399 and we expect the new one to be priced higher with its higher-spec internals and premium build. The Ascend P7 gets a 5″ Full HD display and runs on their very own Hi-Silicon 1.8GHz Quad-Core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage. While the main camera is a 13MP shooter, the biggest highlight is its front facing 8MP shooter which boasts a unique Panorama Selfie mode. You can check out the full details of the Ascend P7 here. Huawei is also announcing several devices next week including its MediaPad X1 tablet and TalkBand B1 wearable device.
