HTC One mini 2 officially announced. Coming to Asia in June

The little brother of the HTC One M8 is officially announced as the HTC One mini 2. HTC could really do better with their naming conventions as we have too many Ones in the market.

The One mini 2 replaces its current HTC One mini and maintains the similar design language as the current HTC One M8 as well as its Boom Sound front stereo speakers. The Super Clear LCD2 display at the front is slightly bigger now at 4.5″ but it still pushes the same resolution of 1280×720.

Powering the device is a familiar Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor as before but now runs with 4 cores clocked at 1.2GHz instead of dual-core 1.4GHz in the previous mini. It gets 1GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage like before. Good news is that it now gets a microSD expansion slot which supports up to 128GB.

Unlike its bigger brother the One M8, the One mini 2 sticks to a single 13MP main camera with a single flash. Meanwhile at the front, it gets a larger 5MP camera for better Selfie pictures. The One mini 2 is powered with a much larger 2,110mAh battery and overall it weighs 137 grams with a thickness of 10.6mm. Connectivity wise it has 4G LTE with support for our local 1800/2600MHz bands while the SIM card slot uses nano-SIM.

The HTC One mini 2 is available in 3 colours – Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold. It is expected to go on sale in EMEA and Asia region beginning June 2014 which isn’t too far away.
