UPDATE: U Mobile pulls down their HTC One M8 promo page from their website. Could this be related to Maxis exclusivity with HTC? Just yesterday DiGi has teased that they will be offering the HTC One M8 on contract as well.
UPDATE 2: U Mobile’s HTC One M8 page is back on their website.
It looks like the HTC One M8 isn’t exclusive to Maxis after all. U Mobile too is offering the aluminium clad HTC One M8 from just RM999. Like its earlier Galaxy S5 offer, there’s no extra upfront payment required provided that you sign up with auto-debit on U88 and U Plus plan.
The bundled offering from U Mobile are as follows:
U58 – 2GB data – (RM58/month) – RM1,799
U88 – 3GB data – (RM88/month) – RM1,599
U Plus – 5GB data – (RM138/month) – RM999
All plans are tied with a single 24 month contract option. For the U58 plan, there’s an upfront payment of RM348 which is equivalent to 6 months subscription. If you plan on taking up U88 and U Plus without auto-debit billing, you would need to fork out 6 months subscription fee as advance payment which will be rebated back to your monthly bills.
In terms of colours, the HTC One M8 will only be available in Gracial Silver and Gunmetal Grey. Outright, the HTC One M8 is offered at RM2,399. As a special deal, U Mobile is also throwing in 6 months free smart phone insurance with its U Care Plus 8 protection worth RM48. For the full U Mobile plan offering, you can view it after the break.
Thanks @vinc87 and @jayriums for the heads up.
