The latest Samsung Gear 2 and Gear Fit smart watches are only compatible with a handful of Samsung Galaxy devices. To be extra sure, Samsung has released a simple infographic listing out the supported smart phones and even tablets that would work with the new Gear wearables.

There are a total of 12 smart phones compatible from as old as Samsung Galaxy S III and Note II. Support for tablet users are limited to just 8 models including the newer Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), the latest range of Galaxy TabPro, NotePro and Tab 4 series tablets. Those on older models, would need to update their devices to the latest version before they can connect to the Samsung Gear watches.

In Malaysia, the Samsung Gear 2 is priced at RM899 while the fitness focused Gear Fit is priced at RM599. You can check out our hands-on with the Gear 2 and Gear Fit smart watches from the Samsung Unpacked 5 event.
