Maxis Adds more Value with More Voice & SMS add-ons for SurfMore plans

The Maxis SurfMore postpaid offering is one of the practical postpaid plans for those that uses more mobile internet data rather than making calls and SMS. It comes with a choice of SurfMore 50 which offers 2GB data for RM50/month and SurfMore 75 which offers 5GB of data for RM75/month.

Any calls or SMS made are charged separately in a pay as you go model. For those who actually do make quite a number of voice calls or SMS, Maxis is now introducing an add-on Voice and SMS option that offers bundled talk time or SMS at a discounted monthly fee for SurfMore customers.

The More Voice add-on of RM12/month gives you 120 minutes of voice calls to any local networks which is equivalent of 10 sen/minute. If you text a lot to non-Maxis numbers, there’s More SMS of RM6/month which bundles 120 SMS to any network at the rate of 5sen/SMS. The normal ad-hoc call rates for SurfMore plans are 12sen/min for Maxis numbers and 20sen/min for other networks. SMS are normally charged at 5sen/SMS within Maxis and 15sen/SMS to other networks. This gives substantial savings especially if you make calls to non-Maxis numbers.

On another note, if you have a family member that needs a low entry data plan, Maxis is also having a SurfMore 30 supplementary line that offers 1GB of data for RM30/month. It also includes Free 900 minutes of talk time and 1,500 SMS within the family subscription numbers.
