The Sony QX10 and QX100 Lens Camera were initially released with bundled mounting latches designed for smart phones. While it is still possible to pair with a wide variety of devices, the original mount doesn’t fit large screen smart phones including the Xperia Z Ultra.

Now Sony wants you to take better pictures with your tablet and they are releasing the SPA-TA1 tablet mount to do just that. With a maximum arm width of 190mm, the new mount lets you latch on the lens camera onto a Sony Xperia Tablet Z or even a VAIO Tap 11. This should also be long enough to support a full sized iPad or a Galaxy Note 10.1.

Pricing wise, it is listed at 3,675 Yen which is equivalent to RM119 in current rates and availability is slated for 4th April 2014 in Japan. The QX10 and QX100 are priced at RM699 and RM1499 respectively in Malaysia. To find out how this works with a smart phone, watch our hands-on video with a QX100 here.

Head after the break for more images of the extended mounts.
