Instant Messaging has never been this powerful. The makers of Line has revealed that the instant messaging app raised over US$500,000.00 (that’s over RM1.64 based on today’s exchange rate) in sticker sales for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in Philippines.

The collection was from the ‘Pray for the Philippines’ sticker collection that was specially created to raise funds for the victims of the natural disaster. Each set costs around US$1 and is available until the end of the year. The money raised from the sale of the ‘Pray for the Philippines’ sticker set will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross.

To date, Line has over 300 million registered users and collects over $10 million in revenue per month from sticker alone.
