While smart phone makers are jumping on the 4K video recording bandwagon, Chinese phone maker Vivo has teased its upcoming smart phone with a high resolution 2K display. That’s an effective resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, which is higher than the Nexus 10 display and being crammed into a pocketable device.
At the moment, it is rumoured that the Xplay3S comes with 5.5″ screen giving a pixel sensity of 534ppi and it runs on a more current Snapdragon 800 processor with 4G LTE support. Earlier on, Vivo has teased its X3 smart phone which claims to be the thinnest at only 5.6mm.
Is having 4K an overkill? Well it does makes sense for phablets as the pixel density dips when the screen gets upsized. Currently most Full HD large screen smart phones pushes a pixel density below 400ppi as compared to smaller 4.7″-5.0″ screens that does 440ppi and above.
