Cameras Compared: Lumia 1020 vs Xperia Z1 vs Note 3 Video Test

UPDATE: Lumia 1020 vs Xperia Z1 vs Note 3 Photo photo samples compared.

We had tested out the Nokia Lumia 1020, Sony Xperia Z1 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 over the weekend. While in the midst of compiling the comparison photos, here are some sample video comparison for the 3 latest smart phones.

The Nokia Lumia and Xperia Z1 shoots at a maximum of Full HD 1080p resolution while the Note 3 is capable of shooting 4K videos. Having 4K seems to be a plus point for the Note 3 on paper, but it is hard to judge its playback due to lack of 4K hardware at the moment. However it is interesting to point out that YouTube does support 4K videos and it can be triggered as Original HD under the quality settings.

Watch the samples after the break.

Overall, the Lumia 1020 seems to be a stellar performer among the 3 followed by the Galaxy Note 3. Sadly the Xperia Z1 with its 20.7MP camera seems to be struggling in this comparison. Leave your thoughts of the video sample in the comments section below.

If you haven’t seen it yet, take a guess on which camera does the sample photos belong to over here. We will be revealing the answers this evening.
