UPDATE: Telco comparison updated to reflect Maxis‘s 12 months & SurfMore 50 option for Galaxy Note 3 bundling.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is officially available in Malaysia today with the retail price of RM2,399. The unit which we are getting is the 4G LTE version with 32GB of on-board storage. Those looking forward to get one today on contract will have a choice of 4 telcos to choose from – Celcom, DiGi, Maxis & U Mobile. To make it easier to decide which telco and plans to go for, we’ve compiled a reference comparison of each plan offering as well as minimum cost of ownership inclusive of subscription and device cost.
Contract duration wise, all telcos are offering 24 month duration with the exception of Celcom which also offers 12 month and 18 month options. If you’re looking for the cheapest device pricing on contract, U Mobile is currently the lowest at RM999 which is meant for eligible Loyal customers that sign up with their Ultimate Device 158 plan. However when it comes to total minimum cost of ownership, the lowest cost definitely goes to Celcom’s First Prime + 1GB bolt-on internet plan with a contract period of just 12 months. Of course, the only caveat is that the minimum cost is calculated based on usage within its allocated data, calls & sms quota without incurring excess usage.
Head after the break for the full telco comparison for the Galaxy Note 3.

In terms of promotions, Celcom, DiGi & Maxis are offering special giveaways for Samsung’s Galaxy Gear Smart Watch as well that’s worth RM999. For DiGi, it is bundled with its highest Smart Plan 148, while Celcom is offering it for early bird subscribers getting it on contract. For Maxis, they are giving out 800 units of the watch but it is exclusive to Maxis One Club customers.
Alternative if you don’t wish to be tied on contract, the Galaxy Note 3 can be purchased from Samsung outlets and SenHeng.
