The folks at Xperia Blog has managed to get their hands on the Xperia Z1 press release which should be embargoed until tomorrow. In the software front, it runs on the current Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. From the press release, there’s a new feature called Timeshift Burst which lets you take the best shot out of its 61 shots taken in 2 seconds. That’s equivalent of taking 30.5 photos per second.
Dimensions wise, the Xperia Z1’s 8.5mm thickness is thicker than the Xperia Z Ultra (6.5mm) as well as the Xperia Z (7.9mm). At 170 grams, it is 24 grams heavier than the Xperia Z.
When compared to a photography oriented smart phone like the Lumia 1020, the 41MP Lumia with Xenon lens is thicker at 10.4mm but yet lighter at 158 grams. This isn’t surprising considering the Lumia 1020 packs a 2,000mAh battery which is 33% less than the Xperia Z1.
