Entry level BlackBerry 9720 announced with BB 7 OS

While BlackBerry is rocking its new BlackBerry 10 devices, they have not abandoned the previous BlackBerry 7.1 platform just yet. They have just announced its new entry level BlackBerry 9720 which looks like a device from its the previous generation. It comes with a 2.8″ display that’s touch enabled and runs on a modest 800MHz processor with 512MB of RAM. Other hardware details include a 5MP camera, WiFi & 3G connectivity, FM Radio and 1,450mAh battery.

Overall it is a pretty bare bones QWERTY device and comes with the usual BBM with Voice support. There’s even a dedicated BBM button to get chatting instantly. The 9720 is targeted for emerging markets in Asia, Middle East and Latin America.

Head after the break for the promo video.
