Microsoft Surface Pro launched in Malaysia from RM2,749

After the arrival of Microsoft Surface RT, Microsoft has finally brought in the Surface Pro version to Malaysia. Powered with a more capable 3rd generation Intel Core i5 processor and Windows 8, the Microsoft Surface Pro is available in either 64GB or 128GB storage that’s priced at RM2,749 and RM3,049 respectively. As comparison, the Windows RT based Microsoft Surface RT is priced at RM1,549 (32GB) and RM1,849 (64GB).

Other differences with the Surface RT is a 10.6″ Full HD display, 4GB of RAM and a bigger 42 Watt/hr battery. In terms of dimensions, the Surface Pro is slightly thicker (13.5mm) and heavier (907g) than the RT version. Another extra item you’ll get with the Surface Pro is the Surface Pen which acts as a stylus/pen input device.

In terms of availability, the Surface Pro will be available this Friday June 7th onwards at Challenger, Harvey Norman and Thundermatch outlets. The price above is only for the standalone tablet device. Those requiring the full productivity experience of a keyboard would need to buy it separately at RM379 for the touch cover or RM409 for the type cover. The type cover comes only in black while the touch cover has an array of black, white, cyan, red and magenta colours to choose from.
