iPad with Retina display gets 128GB variant

Apple has just announced its 128GB model of the new 4th generation iPad with Retina display, doubling the capacity from its biggest 64GB model. As expected, it will be available in both black and white colours in either WiFi or WiFi + Cellular model. On the inside, there’s no changes and it retains the same A6X chip and its 9.7″ display that pushes 2048 X 1536 pixels resolution.

In terms of pricing, it is an extra US$100 on top of the 64GB model with the 128GB WiFi version priced at US$799, while the 128GB WiFi + Cellular version priced at US$929. Pricing of its 16GB, 32GB and 64GB remains unchanged at this point, so those who have just purchased one recently can breathe a sigh of relief.

If it comes to Malaysia, it is expected to be priced at RM2,399 (WiFi) and RM2,799 (WiFi+Cellular) based on the same incremental RM300 price difference across its models. The 128GB iPad will be available beginning next month on 5th February.
