ASUS is expected to reveal its upcoming ASUS PadFone sequel, the PadFone 2 next Tuesday on 16th October. The ASUS PadFone which comes with a dockable phone and a tablet station is a unique convergence device which also comes with an optional keyboard dock. While we are still days away from the event, the new model is revealed early with product images and video.
From the leaked images, the new PadFone uses a different docking mechanism which now appears to be simpler with a slide in dock as opposed to the original in-tray docking mechanism. The PadFone 2 comes with a 4.7″ display (increased from the previous 4.3″), quad-core Qualcomm 8064 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, a larger 2,140mAh battery and a 13MP camera at the rear. Instead of Super AMOLED, ASUS has gone with Super IPS+ display that pushes 1280×720 pixels.
