Enable Sony Xperia NXT Transparent Belt as Notification LED

The new Sony Xperia NXT Series comes with an iconic transparent belt that lights up when awaken or there’s an incoming call. Unfortunately the transparent belt seems to be under utilised with most notifications relying on the standard LED notification.

We know a lot of people are asking if they can use the transparent belt as a notification light instead. Now the request seems to be answered through an app developed by Rundgong with no rooting required. Setting up is pretty easy and you’ll just need to pick the model and what type of illumination is used for missed calls and SMS.

The Xperia S and Xperia P comes with a single white LED option while the Xperia U has a wider array of colours. To differentiate the notification, you can set the blink rate or keep it as always on until the screen is unlocked. Users of the Xperia U with its multi LED belt will certainly be benefiting a lot from this app while the Xperia P won’t be as useful as the transparent belt illumination is rather dim for our liking.

So owners of Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U, head over to the Google Play to download.
