Nokia 808 PureView Global Releases Happening Throughout May

Nokia has announced that the Nokia 808 PureView will be hitting store shelves around the world this month. First countries that will be launching the epic camera phone will be Russia and India, and Nokia says it will make announcements on additional launches in other countries soon.

The Nokia 808 PureView is the only smartphone in the world that packs a 41MP sensor — the biggest sensor with the highest megapixel count ever for a smart phone. The phone received the “Best Mobile Device” at Mobile World Congress 2012 as well as the “Best Imaging Innovation for 2012” from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).

At this time, there’s no word on when exactly Malaysia will be getting the device.

Check out some of the stunning pictures taken with the 808 PureView here. Nokia has also setup a Flickr page with even more pictures taken with the device. You can take a look at them here.

One thing though, it’s really a pity that such an amazing cameraphone is running an operating system that will eventually be phased out.
